More New Words

In the top video, Ryan is practicing the word "up" and "hat." He'll really point to a hat and say hat, so I'm going to say that "hat" is officially his 3rd word. This video is all over the place because he's reaching for the camera the whole time.

In the bottom video, he is climbing me and I'm able to get one good "up" out of him. He uses the word up appropriately, but sometimes he seems to use it when he wants more food, so that confuses me.

Can't wait til he says mama and dada on a regular basis and actually mean us.

Crib Cuteness

This is typically what Burke and I experience when Ryan has woken up and is ready to be retrieved. First you'll hear a few of the cute sounds he makes while he "talks" to himself and plays in his crib. Then once we go in, he says "hi" and "uh-oh". I think he's saying uh-oh because he's dropped his pacifier out of the crib, which he does EVERY time. That seems to be his signal to us that he's about ready for us to come get him. In this video, his crib monkeys are in the crib. He'll sometimes kiss the monkeys. Sometimes he evicts them from the crib and they're on the floor. Finally, you'll get to see how he moves himself around, pulling up to stand, cruising, etc.

It's a long video...but cute, and worth it, we think.

Fun with Technology

So Burke was entertaining Ryan (and himself) at the computer. He took these pictures with our web cam. The web cam software has tools to make it all enhanced like this.

(Not real glasses... But if he ever needs glasses, he'll be cute, right?)

Music Time with Daddy

I just love that Burke plays for Ryan. He's been doing so since Ryan was in the womb. Then it evolved to Ryan lying on his back and listening very passively, then lying on back or sitting in his chair listening more actively. Now he climbs all over the guitar when Burke plays. I wonder if he'll like music like we do...

Silly Boo Boo Man

Favorite things: wearing sunglasses and baseball caps (from watching daddy do it), playing with mama's keys (especially putting them in Happy's dish and scooting around with the dish, keys inside), playing pretend eating/drinking, playing with magnets, and saying "hi".

He wears our sunglasses and seems to like it even though they're so big. He tries to scoot around with them on. We have got to get him his own pair.

For some reason he prefers these square magnets we have with artwork on them. Lately, he's been taking it off the refrigerator, putting it in his mouth, and scooting around like this. Not sure why he started doing this. I may have put one in my mouth once because I didn't have a free hand and I was cleaning up. But that was a long time ago. Silly baby!

Little Climber

This is one of Ryan's recent fun games. He uses the guitar case as a step and then hoists his little leg up to climb onto the futon. Super cute. I love the little leg hoist.

Fridge Climbing

As Ryan would say, "Uh-ohhhh." This activity combined the two things he loves most right now, food and climbing. I know he likes to play in the refrigerator, so I try to keep it closed when he's scooting around the kitchen. He was quick this time, and daddy was on duty. So he got away with it.

We'd never seen him climb up to stand in it before, so this was new. And a little cute.
