Summer Haircut

Today Ryan & Burke got haircuts. Ryan sat in the barber chair by himself and then waited patiently on the couch with 2 other patrons while Burke finished getting his hair cut. I know that getting hair cuts is a nightmare for some parents and kids. Not for Ryan. He doesn't seem to mind it. I'm sure the sucker doesn't hurt.

Ryan & Evan

Ryan is interested in holding Evan lately. He knows when he's holding Evan I like to take pictures and he lets me do it. I wonder what holding Evan and my taking pictures of them together means to him in his little 2 year old mind. I just love it!

Mr. Mohawk

Evan's hair currently falls in a way that looks mohawk-ish, even when flat. So after a recent bath, Burke was inspired to stand up that hair up into a true mohawk. He really liked it and said he was going to try to keep it going as long as possible. Turns out, mohawk madness has already ended. I'm glad we got a couple pictures to remember it, because Evan wore that baby mohawk really well.

In the Pool

I have been waiting for this moment since last summer! I so enjoy the water and really hope my boys do too. Ryan likes playing with water but is still tentative about moving around in it. Evan was a real sport when I plopped him in the little pool. He would turn and reach for/nuzzle me when Ryan splashed to vigorously. That was sweet.

We got them these cute bathing suits at a consignment shop. I really like them.

I wish we could do this all day.

First Tooth

Evan is now 6 1/2 months old. We just felt his first tooth popping through the gum. Ouch! No wonder he's having a tough time sleeping and seems more whiny than usual. Evan currently enjoys peek-a-boo and banging objects together. As you can see, he's also getting pretty good at sitting up.

Rocking Chair

I am not quite sure how they came to be in this position on the rocking chair. Burke was in charge of them at the time. He called me over to see them sitting like this because it's adorable. It was such a sweet moment for Ryan and Evan.

Sweet Potatoes

I guess he didn't like them! What a reaction!



This video is from the first day he had sweet potatoes. On the second day, Burke thinned them out with formula and rice cereal and he ate them up. I thinned them out on the third day with just formula. Therefore, I'm guessing it was the thick texture he disliked so strongly on the first day of sweet potatoes.

Bouncing & Sitting Up

Getting so big and strong! Evan is getting more and more stable while sitting up.

We just love this little guy so much!

Nyack Beach State Park

Last Thursday was my parents last full day visiting us in NY. In the afternoon, we went to Nyack Beach State Park. The river is on one side of the path and Hook Mountain is on the other. It is a popular park in this area and I am ashamed to admit, this was our first time visiting. I had heard people rave about it, but we never made it there in the 2 years we've lived here. Anyway... it was beautiful and tranquil. Can't wait to go back!

This Boy LOVES Chocolate!

 It is certainly in his genes to appreciate dessert! Both the Lokeys and the Ponkas are exceptional sweets eaters!
