Go Hope!

Here's a couple shots of my little Flying Dutchman (that's Hope's mascot). Hope College is my alma mater, by the way, for those of you who may not have known.

Winter Coat

We've been buying 18-24 month, 24 month, or 2T clothing items for Ryan lately. This is his new winter coat, which is a 2T - obviously much too big for him. At least it will last through March. We tried it on him today and he looks hilariously cute in it. The gigantic coat just envelops him.

Rump Shaker

I have the 1992 hit "Rump Shaker" by Wreckx-N-Effect on my ipod. I played it the other day and Ryan really dug it. He was dancing up a storm and repeating some of the lyrics (which is not necessarily good).

His dance moves include shaking his arms, spinning in circles, and rocking back and forth from leg to leg. He takes little breaks to throw a ball, push his car, and look in the mirror.

p.s. He also likes Will Smith's "Miami".

Learning to Use a Broom

Is it a broom? Is it a hairbrush?

Sunday Best

This past Sunday, we went to Grace Church in our neighborhood. We had been searching for a church for a while and I recently spoke to someone about Grace. They have a "family service" and I liked the other details I heard, so we thought we'd try it out.

Here is Ryan in his Sunday best. He was better dressed than I was. This outfit is from my Aunt Carol. He is just adorable in it.

The service was entirely child-centered. I've never seen so many children engaged in a church service. I think my favorite part was how the kids took the offerings. Also, children take communion. Even Ryan did! Burke and I were so pleased. We walked out of there excited to go back to church next week.
