NYC -Part 2

Here's a nice picture of the Lokey family at the zoo.

Ryan skipped his afternoon nap that day. Here we are at Rosa's for dinner and he's cashed out! But he was still such a sweet angel even though he was so sleepy.

Walking back to our car after Rosa's, Ryan was asleep within minutes of being put in the stroller. It was a long day for him. Really enjoyable though, for everyone, I think.

Central Park Zoo

Tuesday, June 23 was Keith's 27th birthday. We spent the day in the city. We ate two amazing meals (one at Sarabeth's, the same spot where our rehearsal dinner was and Rosa Mexicana) and we went to the Central Park Zoo. I hadn't been there in over 10 years and Burke had never been. It was a really nicely maintained zoo and small enough to see in an afternoon.

A great shot of Ryan and Uncle Keith in the zoo's cafe area.

The sea lion's put on a great show at feeding time.

Burke, Keith, Ryan & I watch the sea lions.

Snow monkey family. Look at the cute baby monkey. We got a kick out of watching that baby.

Bubbles

Burke's family was in town for the last week. We all went to a wedding on June 20. The bride and groom gave out bubbles to blow during their recessional. The next day, at home, Uncle Keith blew some bubbles for Ryan. He was a little skeptical at first, but now he's amused by them.

First Haircut

I put off the moment as long as I could...

I just love his curls and didn't want to see them go. But when other people began to comment on how long his hair was, I began to admit to myself that it needed to be done. I felt a little better about us doing it ourselves, rather than taking him to a haircut place.

So tonight, after a bath, Burke snipped a little off the back and a little by his ears. Don't worry, I'm saving the strands.

An action shot. One of the first snips. Burke has a freshly cut piece in his fingers.

It looks a little more orderly and less like a mullet now.

Still a handsome little boy.

Ryan's First Yankees Game

Yesterday we went to the new Yankee Stadium for the first time! I was so excited. I told Burke it felt like Christmas. The stadium, game, weather, and Ryan's behavior didn't disappoint. Yankees won 4-3, against Tampa Bay, in an 8th inning rally. We got to see Mariano Rivera close the game too.

At first we sat in the sun for about 3 innings. Then we all needed a shade/ice cream/shopping break.

Our view. We sat on the left field side near the foul pole. Johnny Damon was the player closest to us.

We bought Ryan this awesome hat. A Yankees fan in the making (much to his uncles' dismay).

Family shot at the end of the game.

Ryan's First Messy Room

When I have to clean his dirty diaper, I usually put him in his crib so he's safe while I'm in the bathroom. But lately, he's hated that with a passion. He's getting better at standing up and moving around so I thought, I'll just put him on the floor in his room and cross my fingers. I heard some crashing and toy noises while I was in the bathroom and came back to see this! I was gone maybe a minute. He wasted no time making a mess.
