Generally, our family can tolerate winter. We don't mind snow and cold. I personally appreciate seasonal changes. Keeps life interesting. That being said, we are ready for spring! The snow can stop at this point. Here are some winter pics I took this season.
January 23
The boys are so helpful with moving snow, especially Evan. This is what shoveling with Covid looks like. He welcomes the physical activity, and has always been a happy helper.
When Ryan helps shovel, the snow becomes an opportunity to express creativity. The snow is now a medium, and artistic patterns emerge.
Then Ryan rests, as he does not have tons of stamina for physical activity.
And Evan, who has always loved to play, takes time to make a cute, tiny snowman.
February 4
The 5th graders went cross-country skiing at our local nature center. Of course, I had to try it too. I did just fine, and more importantly, I had a blast.
February 5
Another snowfall. The boys are always wondering if the various snowfalls will produce good packing snow. Ryan checks it out, tries to make some snowballs, while Evan is working to clear the driveway.
February 10
This was a fun, school opportunity sponsored by the middle school PTO. Each grade had a skate night at a local rink. Here is Evan skating for the first time in a couple years. He did well, and had some fun with friends.
It is March 12. There is a little bit of snow on the ground. It's bitterly cold this weekend. Next week's forecast is promising though, 40s and 50s all week. Spring, warmer weather, sunshine, baseball, and vacation adventures... all right around the corner!
